A sunny morning in Highworth saw Tower Hill Vixens away to Swindon Town. We knew this was going to be a hard fixture, within 4 minutes we went 1-0 down and the rest of the first half the Vixens hard work managed to keep the goals at bay until 3 minutes in to stoppage time when Swindon managed to get another, making it 2-0 at half time. The Vixens were not deflated and started the second half battling, yet again 4 minutes in Swindon got another. Swindon kept the pressure up, but half way through the second half Amy Williamson broke forward with pace only to be stopped with a very good challenge from the last Swindon defender which resulted in Amy limping off. Amy swapped rolls with Millie Harris (goalkeeper) for the last 8 minutes of the game, where a very tired Vixens battled on with Amy making some great save's but Swindon managed to get 3 more before the final whistle. The game finished 6-0, the Vixens never gave up and if they had it could of been double figures. Well done girls!
In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
