We are reminded again of winter as temperatures for the game are just above zero. Players, managers and supporters all needing to concentrate over the cold conditions.
The first half started well with both teams competing well for the ball. Wind with helping Bodycote's midfield mount several strong attacking moves on goal, Bodycote's Thomas Wilkin breaking well down the left hand side. Tower Hill's right back Ben Simpson (Man of the match), equal to each attack with many well timed tackles. Counter attacking from Tower Hill's Chris Phelps, Joshua Carter and great wing play from Richard Neyhaul could not find the net. Good shots and good saves from both keepers, Bodicote finish the half just shaving the best moments of play.
Second half and all to play for both teams again battling hard for the ball in the middle of the park, Tower Hill's Chris Phelps found several on goal opportunities, but again strong defending from Bodycote's Conner Kelly and Jack Turner always pushed any clear shooting opportunity wide. Fresh legs on with Tower Hills Alfie Hester and Daniel Wall and several further great chances to score from both teams could have nicked the win.
A great competitive game and a fair result for both teams. Thank you supporters and players.
In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
