Marston Saints Angels 2

Tower Hill Vixens hosted Marston Saints Angels for this bottom of the table clash, Marston had a player drop out that morning leaving them with only 8 players & Tower agreed to play 8v8 leaving them with 3 subs.

Vixens kicked off but it was Marston who had most of the ball & a fierce shot was tipped over by Millie Andrews in the Tower goal in the opening minutes. This gave a warning to Tower & they started to up their game Millie Harris putting in a great cross only for Amy Williamson to drag her shot just wide, Lydia Granger was also unlucky not to score. Tower were keeping Marston back in their own half now with a succession of throw in's & corners & only a good save by Millie Powell in the Marston goal prevented Williamson's fine run ending in a goal. Marston finally got hold of the ball & a great ball inside from the left back saw the Marston striker one on one with keeper, she raced forward & her well placed shot went in off the post to break the deadlock on 22 minutes. Just two minutes later Tower were back in it, Millie Harris's fine solo run ending in her smashing a right footed shot into the roof of the net. Just before the half time whistle Marston edged back in front with a mess up in the Tower box resulting in the ball somehow finding the back of the net.

Marston kicked off what turned out to be a scrappy second half with both teams having a lot of the ball but not doing a lot with it. One highlight for Tower was another great solo run from Harris but her powerful shot was high & wide. As the half wore on it was Marston who had much of the play & the better chances but neither side could add to their tally & the game petered out & Marston took 3 vital points.
